She looked like a clown circa 1987

by Anonymousreply 1December 19, 2021 11:44 PM

Murderers are less likely to repeat their crime than any other kind of criminal and female offenders have lower recidivism rates than male odfenders

by Anonymousreply 2December 19, 2021 11:44 PM

R1 She was tortured and killed over this chick. Is she any better looking?

R2, check your premises, please.

[quote]People who murder people don't often murder more people so they get a freebie plus these young ladies had PUSSIES.

by Anonymousreply 6December 20, 2021 12:09 AM

That's your takeaway, r1?

by Anonymousreply 7December 20, 2021 12:14 AM

I read the book about this many years ago. Those girls were so mean to Shanda, she was only 12 years old. Melinda definitely needs to still be behind bars, and so does that freak, Laurie. I think Amanda should also be held accountable. She was on dr. phil (i think it was dr. phil) and she had no remorse or took any kind of responsibility for what happened to Shanda. Even though she wasn't there when it happened, i think she was very manipulative.

by Anonymousreply 8December 20, 2021 12:14 AM

R8 I agree 100%. Everyone who played a part in Shanda’s demise got off easy. It’s sad and unfair.

by Anonymousreply 9December 20, 2021 12:23 AM

They all sound like Deplorables.

by Anonymousreply 10December 20, 2021 12:37 AM

I wish I hadn't read the OP, that poor girl. Some people should be locked up forever.

How did she look like a clown, R1?

WTF. Amanda Heavrin is a shit person too - she's not a murderer but just as heartless.

[quote]After watching an in-depth documentary on this, it really changed my mind about Amanda. Allegedly she was stalking Shanda and was relentless about contacting her after Shanda’s mother, father and Shanda herself told Amanda to stop contacting her. Shanda even had a new boyfriend when she switched schools and told Amanda she had moved on. Amanda would even trick Shanda into picking up the phone by having a mutual friend 3 way call her. And she would constantly want to see Shanda to make Melinda jealous because she liked the attention, admittedly. I don’t agree with putting all the blame on Amanda but with this information I can see why Shanda’s family feels the way they do. Watch Stephanie Harlowe’s recent video on it, she did an amazing job.

Just read about this case and glad to see a thread's still open. What a sordid tale. Sharer's father ended up drinking himself to death.

The marriage of Melinda Loveless's parents sounds like a horror show:

[quote]The Loveless parents would often visit bars in Louisville where Larry would pretend to be a doctor or a dentist and introduce Marjorie as his girlfriend. He would also "share" her with some of his friends from work, which she found disgusting. During an orgy with another couple at their house, Marjorie tried to commit suicide, an act she would repeat several times throughout her daughters' childhoods.[9] When Melinda was nine years old, Larry had Marjorie gang raped, after which she tried to drown herself. After that incident, she refused him sex for a month, until he raped her as their daughters overheard the event through a closed door. In the summer of 1986, after she would not let him go home with two women he met at a bar, Larry beat Marjorie so severely that she was hospitalized; he was convicted of battery.

Trash humanity. It sickens one.

by Anonymousreply 14October 1, 2022 2:29 PM

All 4 should have been executed.

by Anonymousreply 15October 1, 2022 2:33 PM

R2, I think the one bite rule is only reserved for previously peaceful dogs. And for just a bite.

by Anonymousreply 16October 1, 2022 2:44 PM

I'm surprised American Justice never covered the Sharer case.

Was there a similar case in Pennsylvania?

by Anonymousreply 17October 1, 2022 3:13 PM

Found it ... was thinking of this case (which was covered by American Justice):

12 yo and in a lesbian relationship? Kids are precocious these days. I wasn't even thinking of dating at 12.

by Anonymousreply 19October 1, 2022 3:56 PM

It happened 30 years ago, r19.

by Anonymousreply 20October 1, 2022 4:06 PM

How long do you think they'll give the women who have unexplained miscarriages?

by Anonymousreply 21October 1, 2022 4:08 PM

Even more precocious R20.

by Anonymousreply 22October 1, 2022 5:12 PM

Jesus. Reading Melinda's bio felt like I was reading an overwritten pitch for a shitty Lifetime movie. It hits every single "bad childhood" trope hard and often, even has a few twists, like, I don't know, eventual murder.

by Anonymousreply 23October 1, 2022 5:22 PM

Sounds like the mother of Shanda forgave Melinda Loveless. Does sound like Loveless had a horrible family life and was JEALOUS of Shanda. Would have been better just to shoot her in the head or the heart vs. all the different ways they tried to kill her.

by Anonymousreply 24October 1, 2022 8:04 PM

If I was that poor child’s parent, I would hunt down every one of those bitches and execute each one myself.

by Anonymousreply 26October 6, 2022 9:22 PM

This is apropos of nothing, but r13 makes me wonder how often domestic violence plays a role when hetero couples engage in swinging. In my 20s I knew two separate couples who engaged in orgies of various kinds ... and both guys were also violent. I'm as open minded as the next person, but to me there's something fucked up about straight men into cucking or swinging. Usually, the woman doesn't seem to consent because she genuinely enjoys it

I looked this case up thinking it was a case I saw on Dateline, but this one was far, far worse and sadder. The girl on Dateline was named Skyler something and her friends stabbed her in 2019 I think. Very sad story, but this one was terrible.

I feel so sad for the unlucky kids who end up friends with the few true psychopaths in the world.

by Anonymousreply 28October 7, 2022 7:19 AM

I remember seeing a true crime show that profiled this case years ago—can't remember which. What was done to this poor girl was truly unspeakable. I am presuming the girls' releases have to do with the fact that they were juveniles when they did this, but if I'm being frankly honest, I think there are members of the Manson family who are far more deserving of parole than any of these women.

I am sort of surprised this story has not been picked up for feature film treatment, though I doubt few people would want to touch it given the nature of what happened and the fact that these were all very young girls. I remember reading that Chloe Sevigny played Laurie Tackett in a stage play based on the crime, and she said she had such horrible nightmares that she started going back to Catholic mass again.

One of my favourite Cold Case episodes, The Sleepover, was very loosely based on in this crime. It was directed by Emilio Estevez. Music by REM, Simple Minds, Martika, The Bangles, The Cure, Crowded House, The Cure and Edie Brickell. Starring the creep kid from The Ring.

Those killers are simply stunning. So brave. So woke.

by Anonymousreply 31October 7, 2022 8:52 AM

This is horrible. Makes me cry.

by Anonymousreply 32October 7, 2022 8:54 AM

What a nightmare inducing story.

by Anonymousreply 34October 9, 2022 2:42 AM

Jesus Christ! I read the Wikipedia entry about that poor young lady because I hadn't a clue as to who she was and I burst into tears. How in the Hell are those monsters to be let out of prison?

You think I'm being a Datalounge Mary? Nah. This time I'm truly not.

Here's the evilness in regard to how she died..

My God. She was burnt alive. They kidnapped her, beat her, stabbed her, locked her in the trunk of their car, got a bite to eat, noticed she was still somehow still the Hell alive, and set her on fire. Let them rot in fucking prison.

I don't care that they were schoolgirls at the time. Fuck that piss poor excuse. They are monsters!

by Anonymousreply 36October 9, 2022 2:50 AM

Women get away with more if they even get charged unless you’re black. The only white women who are treated like men and black women in the court system were the Manson women.

by Anonymousreply 37October 9, 2022 2:51 AM

Sure brings "mean girls" to another level...holy shit. These girls make the Manson girls seem tame, by comparison. They did everything possible to this poor girl...the hell she endured. Why are these psychos released?? I don't care about the age of these heinous murderers, execution or life in prison...the end. Kids that do worse murders than adults need to be locked up for life.

by Anonymousreply 38October 9, 2022 3:29 AM

I don't think there's any rehabilitation from something as bad as that. If someone, no matter the age, is capable of that type of evil.....absolutely no remorse at the time, they are damaged humans...beyond help. They need to be put away for life, or put down.

by Anonymousreply 39October 9, 2022 3:38 AM

I agree. It takes a special kind of evil to find ways to torture a 12 year old girl for 6-7 hours and right in the middle, get some soda, clean up, and go back to torturing her.

It doesn’t matter that these girls were teens. They have some serious karma coming back to them in the next life. Prison is nothing compared to the shit they did to that poor girl.

by Anonymousreply 40October 9, 2022 3:39 AM

I suspect someone will take justice into their own hands more and more. That's what happens when criminal justice fails.

by Anonymousreply 41October 9, 2022 3:41 AM

[quote] I suspect someone will take justice into their own hands more and more. That's what happens when criminal justice fails.

I wish someone had. The killers deserve to be torn limb from limb.

by Anonymousreply 42October 9, 2022 4:03 AM

Amanda Heavrin was later arrested for domestic battery — no surprise there. She and the other four should have been put to death, no exceptions. So tired of all the crime, the woke mob, the defund the police, the new bail laws in certain states.
